In June 2005, ARENA signed “General Framework Agreement on Science and Technology Cooperation” with the Ministry of Scientific Research, Technology and Competency Development (Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology since January 2007), the Republic of Tunisia (the document of the agreement is available here). Under the framework, cooperative research projects between Tunisian and Japanese researchers are carried out.
To establish a joint research project between Tunisian researchers and those in ARENA, Joint Research Agreement with Memorandum of Agreement should be signed and shared. They should be signed by directors of Tunisian and Japanese research organization (Director of Graduate School, General Director of Research Center, Dean of Faculty etc.). 2005年6月に筑波大学北アフリカ研究センター（ARENA）はチュニジア共和国科学技術省（2007年1月より高等教育・科学技術研究省）との間に科学技術研究協力に関する包括協定を締結しました（協定書全文はこちらからダウンロード出来ます）。
この協定に基づきチュニジアの研究者と共同研究を行うためには、共同研究契約書（Joint Research Agreement）およびこれに付帯するメモランダム（Memorandum of Agreement）を締結する必要があります。これらの契約書はチュニジア、日本の研究者双方の所属研究組織長（大学院研究科長、研究センター長等）の署名が必要です。これらの標準的なひな形は以下からダウンロード出来ます。
これらの書類を2部ずつ作成し、双方の署名を入れ、一部は日本側で、もう一部はチュニジア側で保管します。
